A highlight was definitely Louisiana, which is a contemporary art museum outside of Copenhagen.  That is where the images of the Olafur Eliasson's installation piece entitled "Riverbed" are from. We also really enjoyed the Rosenborg Castle and Tivoli Park.

We saw lots of old friends are were treated royally! Lots of pints of Guiness. There was also:  black pudding and sausage breakfast (awesome), rainbows, lots and lots of sheep, the book of Kells, Trinity Library, windswept bluffs which lived up to their name, rain (though not too much), and a lost Irish cap (thankfully replaced). This photo below was taken in Massbrook in County Mayo. I had a very cooperative rainbow and fence.

BARELY made our plane due to Munich Oktoberfest and a packed TGV train being 2 hours late.  Oh and Stuttgart's Oktoberfest was quite the experience as well. Friday, National holiday, and a gorgeous day to boot- about a gazillion people in search of beer and sausage. The real highlights were the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart (it was spectacular even for non-car buffs) and Wurztburg. After being 90% destroyed in bombing in 1945, they did a spectacular job of repairing the city, including the extraordinary building in the UNESCO site called the "Residence".  The reason for the trip was a reunion of my Mother-in-law's Stanford in Germany class in Beutelsbach. The 'campus' was called Landgutburg and had a bunch of gorgeous vineyards.  Enjoy my photos of Landgutburg, Stuttgart and Wurztburg.
